Barron Collier teacher honored

Barron Collier High School choral teacher Todd Peterson was honored for his choir’s performance of their trademark song “Unity” at the site of the former World Trade Center in April. The Teacher Awards from the Tribute WTC Visitor Center are in their inaugural year and were presented to six teachers and their schools, four of which are in New York City. The Naples Daily News reports on Peterson’s reaction:

“I am honored they felt so moved by what our students did,” he said. “The motto of our program is to touch and change lives. To receive an award for that, it’s just proof that we are doing what we are supposed to do.”
