Collier County has been the home and training ground of many highly prized college football recruits, include current NFL stars Edgerrin James and Fred McCrary. No surprise then, that this year’s signing day was a big event in town.
No less than seventeen local seniors signed letters of intent today to play football at the next level, including an unprecedented four Division I signees from Golden Gate High School. The Naples High 2007 state champion team is sending five players off to school with scholarships next year, while Immokalee and Barron Collier chip in with five and three signees, respectively.
Check out the signing day blog on NaplesNews.com to learn which players will be attending which schools. Also, don’t miss the signing news for girls fall sports.
And honestly, the high school football culture here in Naples is about as fine and strong as any around the country. A nice seasonal residence would be a great way to get in on the action!
