The Tourist Development Council for Collier County is looking into options that may pull the Cubs in for spring training in Naples. Talks are leading to the idea of creating a special committee to see how much potential there is to convincing the cubs to move from Mesa, Arizona. The costs have not been evaluated, or how the funds for the stadium. A new stadium could create over 1,000 construction jobs for the local area. Throughout spring training in 2009, an average economic impact value of $49 million was created per team. The council is still not quite ready yet to stand behind the project.
