Ritz Carlton Beach Dispute
Recently, a few Collier Country residents have filed complaints that the Ritz Carlton on Vanderbilt Beach has been treating the public beach like private property. The law states that public beach goes all the way up to the point where the water touches during high tide on the beach. Some complaints have been about a tiki bar blocking the north end of the beach, as well as umbrellas and lounge chairs being put in public beach area.
A Ritz Carlton representative said that they have never tried to kick people off of the beach and they won’t ever in the future. A meeting will be held to come up with a way to make the public aware of where the public beach ends.
